Our Board

 

Linda Horn, Chairwoman

Linda was born and raised in the Memphis area and attended the University of Memphis. She and her husband Ed have been married since 1967. They have two sons, Jeff and Jeremy, and one daughter, Jennifer. She and Ed are the proud grandparents of 6 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. In 2011, Linda retired from her position as COO at The West Cancer Clinic where she had worked for 18 years. In her position as COO, she oversaw the daily operations and managed staff and personnel.

She is presently the Business Manager at The Pathology Group of Memphis. She and Ed are active members of Bellevue Baptist Church where they serve in leadership within their Life Group. Linda is an avid prayer warrior, participating in the Prayer Ministry of her church and gathering weekly with a group of women of other denominations to pray. She also serves on other ministry boards and contributes her time and talents, trusting that God will be glorified in and through her.

Carol Smith

Carol A. Smith is a faithful and devoted Christian dedicated to the study and empowerment of people to spiritual maturity through God’s Word. She is happily married to Senior Pastor, John B. Smith who faithfully supports her in all of her spiritual and natural duties. She is the proud mother of one daughter, Lauren LeeAnn and one son, John Brandon II. Devoted to the vision and mission God has given her husband as well as her God-given purpose, she assists Pastor John within the ministry to assure that his God-given mandate is carried out, as well as her purpose is fulfilled.

Her priority in life and ministry is the success of her marriage, the development of her children, and the example she sets for those of which God has placed in her life. She is passionate about her relationship with God and the study of His Word. Carol received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology & Audiology from Tennessee State University and a Master of Art degree in Audiology from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She is sole proprietor of All Occasions Printing & Design. This business affords her the opportunity to be an “at-home mother” and focus on her God-given passions.

Carol serves faithfully beside her husband in ministry. She currently serves as the Director of Women’s Ministry at the Rosemark Church of God in Christ. Motivated as a child by her mother, Janice Boyd, Carol has a heart for serving her community. She serves on the Grants Committee for the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis and with the Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA). She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority where she currently serves as co-chair of the Economic Development committee. Her partnerships with these organizations afford her an even greater opportunity to serve and make an impact in her community. She formerly served as a Board Member for the Frederick Douglas Wesson Christian Academy and as a volunteer with Hands on Memphis, Shelby County Books from Birth and provided free hearing services to pre-schools and daycares. 

Ginger Calcote

Ginger Calcote has served as one of the founding board members of Secrets Savored. She has taught Secrets’ classes and served as an officer. Ginger has been married to Derrick for over 26 years. They met in Evangelism Explosion, led by Mark Dougharty. Derrick and Ginger have two adult children. Stephen is a recent graduate of Baylor University and resides in Austin, Texas. Christina is a junior at Baylor University. Ginger has taught in the youth and college ministries at Bellevue Baptist church for over 22 years, has served on multiple committees, and is actively involved with Shepherd’s Haven Ministries, serving on their board. She is an avid runner and triathlete, having raced in Boston, Chicago, and New York marathons and recently completed her first half Ironman. She is currently a medical assistant at Mid-South ENT.

Dianne Dougharty

Dianne Dougharty is the founder of Secrets Savored Ministries located in Memphis, Tennessee. Dianne graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with a degree in Elementary Education. For more than 20 years, she has led women’s bible studies, become a respected speaker at women’s conferences, authored curriculum, and has been a contributing writer for many blogs and websites.

Dianne is the mother of two daughters, Angela and Kelly, and Mimi to seven grandchildren. Dianne was married to her late husband, Mark Dougharty, for 45 years. After battling Multiple Systems Atrophy for ten years, Mark went home to be with Jesus on July 31, 2018. During Mark’s illness, God brought this ministry to life by giving Dianne a passion to see multiple generations come together for the purposes outlined in Titus 2:3-4.

Dianne’s heart is for young women to become seekers of Christ, student’s of God’s Word, and lovers of their home, husband, family and calling. Secrets Savored offers an environment of growth through small group discipleship where older women lead the younger through simple homemaking skills and Bible study. The ministry has grown to churches and small groups around the United States and has become a tool to connect multiple generations to one another and share the gospel of Christ.

Donna Gaines

Donna Gaines is a Pastor’s wife, former educator (M.Ed. from Texas Woman’s University), Bible teacher, author of four books, (Choose Wisely, Live Fully, Leaving Ordinary: Encounter God Through Extraordinary Prayer, Seated: Living From Our Position in Christ and There’s Gotta Be More) and editor of A Daily Women’s Devotional. Donna is the Founder and President of ARISE2Read, a nonprofit focused on breaking the poverty cycle through the gospel and education.

She is a disciple maker who fervently desires to see the lives of women transformed as they encounter God through His Word and prayer. Embracing God’s missional calling on her life, Donna mobilizes women to practically live out their faith through both inner city and international efforts. She is the wife of Dr. Steve Gaines, Sr. Pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church. Steve and Donna have four children and fifteen grandchildren.

Ellen Olford

Ellen Olford is a native of Memphis, Tennesse. She functions as a typical mom and wife, intricately involved in the lives of her two girls, Lindsay and Stephanie. She is the wife of Dr. David L. Olford, President of Olford Ministries International, a ministry that supports pastors and leaders all over the world by teaching expository preaching and leadership skills to augment their seminary and church training. Ellen has joined her husband in speaking at various churches and conferences nationally and internationally. She also enjoys speaking at women’s retreats and conferences on a variety of subjects. She serves on the staff at a local church, teaching weekly Bible studies, consulting with staff members, and counseling. She is very gifted at teaching the Word and encouraging men and women in their walk with Jesus Christ.

Tim Whitehorn

Tim has spent over 30 years starting and leading telecom and tech companies with private investors, venture capital, and private equity. He has led teams across five continents and has been involved in 7 mergers including 3 with public companies. Ginger and he have been married for 30+ years. They have three adult sons, and their greatest joy is to see them walking in the truth. Tim now runs a portfolio of online businesses and advises tech and early-stage companies. He also serves on boards of companies, nonprofits, and the University of Memphis. He and Ginger are very active in their church and ministries such as Secrets Savored.

Mark Spiller

Mark Spiller is the Director of Standard Products for the eastern U.S. with Yara North America, one of the world’s leading crop nutrition and environmental solutions companies. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1984. He has been active in numerous state and regional agricultural associations and presently serves on the Executive Board of the Southwestern Fertilizer Conference.

Mark married his high school sweetheart, Shirley, in 1985 and has made the Memphis area home since. They have been active members of Bellevue Baptist church for 30 years, where they presently serve as leaders in the Student Ministry.
